Help Us Hire a Director for Street2Boardroom | Fundraiser

Welcome to our crowdfunding campaign for Street2Boardroom. After seven years of working in the community, we find ourselves in a position where we need your help to continue the important work we do.

We are an organisation dedicated to supporting ex-offenders, assisting young people in leaving street crime, and helping them integrate into employment and business opportunities.

We believe in second chances and empowering people to rebuild their lives.

With your support, we aim to raise funds to hire a passionate and experienced Managing Director who will drive Street2Boardroom forward and expand our impact on a national scale.

About Street2Boardroom

Imagine if people caught up in street crime believed that they could achieve greatness. Imagine if they had the knowledge and confidence to apply what they know from the streets – to learn the legitimate, legal hustle.

We are a not-for-profit community organisation that guides former offenders and young people from disadvantaged communities and enables them to use their street skills to build a new start.

We help people who have engaged in street crime to excel in business and wider society through mentorship, courses and employment opportunities.

It is our mission to challenge the unhelpful and damaging assumptions about people from the street – their talents, aspirations and capabilities.

Everyone, regardless of background, deserves a starting point, guidance, and mentorship to help them to reach their full potential.

If you want to do something to support disadvantaged communities and ex-offenders, please read, share and donate.

It’s not where you come from that counts, it’s where you’re going.

Our Goal

We aim to help Street2Boardroom become a sustainable business so that we can continue supporting people with a background in street crime to get on the straight and narrow.

We have all the foundations in place: a board game, a car-boot sale course for young people, a 4-week business course, a foundation university course, and a recruitment agency.

Now, we need funding to enable us to hire the right person to drive our mission forward and take it to the next level.

Street2Boardroom is looking to raise an initial £60,000 to cover the salary and operational expenses of hiring a dedicated Managing Director for our organisation.

This crucial role will ensure the growth of Street2Boardroom, enabling us to reach more people and transform even more lives.

Why our work is important

Clayton Planter developed Street2Boardroom with the Prince’s Trust. It initially started as an 8-week motivational course, and proved a great success.

Though Clayton himself wasn’t involved in crime, he felt that he faced a lot of the same challenges as his friends: being a young black man, living in a disadvantaged area, with little opportunities and low expectations from the world around him.

Societies and communities work best when people have space to be themselves — if we were all the same, we would never evolve. Everybody, regardless of background, has greatness within; it’s time to start unlocking that.

Everyone, regardless of background, deserves a starting point, guidance, and mentorship to enable them to reach their full potential.

The outcome of reaching our goal

Your support will help cover the core costs of hiring an experienced and passionate director to drive Street2Boardroom forward.

This will result in:

  • Improved access to employment
  • To tackle the lack of job opportunities for people with a street crime background
  • Improved access to training and education
  • Income and financial inclusion
  • Improved mental health and well-being
  • Reduced offending or likelihood of offending
  • People moving beyond their comfort zones to achieve their dreams
