Clayton Planter, founder of Street2Boardroom, isn’t your typical speaker. Growing up, he saw the allure of “the streets” – the fast life, the money, the respect. But his mom had other plans. She knew he had more to offer, and she made sure he got a great education.
Clayton excelled, but he never forgot where he came from. He saw his friends struggling, facing limited opportunities and often getting into trouble. That’s when he decided to do something about it. He founded Street2Boardroom to show people that their background doesn’t define their future.
“These guys have incredible talent,” Clayton says. “They just need the belief that they can succeed.”
Street2Boardroom, created with the support of the Prince’s Trust, started as an 8-week program. And the results? Amazing! Two participants landed corporate jobs, while others went on to college.
“We’re not just talking about it, we’re living it,” Clayton says. “Street2Boardroom isn’t just a program, it’s a lifestyle change. It’s about showing people they can achieve anything they set their minds to.”
Clayton has captivated audiences at events like TedX Bristol and the Cardiff Capital Region Data Inclusivity Event. His unique perspective and powerful message resonate with diverse audiences, from corporate leaders to students.
